Pain in the head

Even thought of tattooing your head? Probably not since the pain is more than most can bare... But Ryan took a courageous step a couple weeks ago and got a tattoo right where it hurts... Here are a couple photos [Photo 1 & Photo 2] and an interview with him to help explain what the tattoo is all about...

Who did it?
My wife Heather Sinn did it at Avalon Tattoo. It was the last tattoo she did before she retired from tattoing.

Where your mind was at when picking it out?
It's something I've wanted for some time, but didn't know exactly how I wanted the entire layout. It's The Caduceus, the Staff of Hermes (google it) I wanted the variation in the wings, representing duality, and the Eye of Horus, which is a very personal symbol to me - it represents my biological mom, where I come from and also the month I was born. I wanted the snakes eyes empty, basically symbolizing the emptiness and blindness wherein hatred and viciousness thrive. And the snakes to be just slightly different, cause often times we can't tell which is good and is merely pretending to be...

How long it take?
The outline took a little over an hour if I remember right, and three hours to fill it in. It would have been faster, but I needed frequent breaks. I've never felt a pain remotely similar.
