hello again, awesome and not so awesome
what's up you all? as you might know, we have had to postpone the first couple of weeks of the north american +44 tour due to a fracture in travis's right arm. the new dates are being finalized today, and when they are official we will be posting them on the +44 myspace page, which is www.myspace.com/plus44. more dates are being added everyday, so check back often, because we are probably playing in your town soon. also on the +44 myspace page you can listen to music, look at photos from the video shoot, vote for songs, download avatars and icons, and generally waste the better part of a day. check it out. it is awesome.
what is NOT so awesome is a shoe company currently running a contest with a "bass signed by mark hoppus." it is not legit. that is not my signature, nor is that my bass. be warned.
but what IS awesome are (is/are?) the new mark hoppus siganture model basses fender is going to be producing soon. this time we did them in traditional late 50's early 60's colors. specifically see-thru blonde, and sunburst, both with tortoise-shell pickguards. i got two early prototypes just before the +44 european tour, and they sound amazing and look gorgeous. i'm gonna take some pictures and put them up on this here site very soon. until then you can check out the first one in the video for "when your heart stops beating." on these new basses i also changed the position of the pickup underneath the g and d strings, putting it closer to the neck, where there is more movement in the string, thus more and better sound. more and better sound is good. as soon as they become available i will let you know.
what is NOT awesome is that last week shane was gushing about this movie i HAD to go see IMMEDIATELY. "best movie of the year," he said. "amazing," he praised. "two thumbs up!" he cheered. turns out it was terrible. just terrible. i saw it and hated it and now shane owes me seven dollars for my wasted time and he's not paying. I WANT MY SEVEN DOLLARS, SHANE!!!!
