Ilan Rubin: "I think I've gotten to the point in my life where The New Regime is all I want to do"

“I think I’ve gotten to the point in my life where it’s all I want to do, I’ve personally never viewed The New Regime as a side project. I think that now I’ve gotten to that point where I decline a lot of things because I think I need to give it the time that it deserves and I’ve always given it 100 percent in the studio, but I’ve always known that my schedule was full by drumming live for other bands. Now I don’t really want to do that and just see this through and take it as far as I can possibly take it,” said Rubin.

"Tom, for example, was not somebody that I thought "I want to collaborate with that guy", it was just a scenario that presented itself and we both approached it with, let’s see how this goes. Quite honestly it was a lot of back and forth and pushing and pulling and it was an absolute compromise all the way through. That can be a good thing or a bad thing. I think that we yielded a good, interesting result between him and myself. It’s not something he would usually do and it’s not something I would usually do," said Rubin.
