Mark's note about postponed tour

Hi. Mark here. I have been reading all of your comments, both here and on my twitter, and to those of you who're frustrated, angry, let down, and incredulous, I feel you. I feel the same way. I've had a while to process everything and I'm still bummed. This was not an easy decision for us at all. One of the hardest things we've had to do. Ever. It sucks. The point is we didn't want to rush and put out an inferior record. We also didn't want to become a band who relies on their past success and just plays the same songs every tour, even though we'll always play the older stuff as well. blink-182 NEEDS to make new music. For you, and for us. I did a long interview with Kerrang! about the postponement of the tour, and hopefully that helps explain everything a little better. I think it comes out on Wednesday. To those who've tried to be supportive and understanding, I thank you. For real. This needs to be the best album we've ever recorded, and we're working hard towards that goal. blink-182 for life.

European 2011 Tour Dates Rescheduled

FROM MARK, TOM AND TRAVIS: It is with heavy hearts that we have to announce our planned 2011 European Summer tour has been rescheduled. When we booked the tour last year, we were confident that we would have the new album out before the Summer. Turns out wewere mistaken as the album is taking longer than we thought and won't be outtill later this year. We hoped we wouldhave some new songs to play rather than do another 'greatest hits tour' whichyou all saw last Summer. As much as weknow our fans would be cool with that, we feel that we owe you guys somethingnew when you spend your money to come see us. Frankly, it's what needs tocontinue for us to remain vital. Thethree of us are working very hard to do what we set out to do when were-formed...get a new blink-182 album recorded. Apologies to all of our fans who have bought tickets and were lookingforward to the Summer shows but we'll be back soon with the rescheduled datesin Summer 2012, have a new album out and be able to play new songs for you all. Thanks for all of the continued support and understanding. The rescheduled dates are on our website (www.blink182.com) and are listed here.

Travis Barker Talks Blink-182's Summer Comeback LP

Blink-182 have been holed up in the studio for months working on their first album in eight years. Drummer Travis Barker says the band is about half-way done and the album will most likely be released in the summer. Blink are aiming to turn the record into their label in July and potentially hit the road soon thereafter. "I think a summer tour and summer album would be nice," says Barker.

As for the sound of the new tunes, Barker says the vibe will hew closely to their last self-titled album. "It does feel exactly where it should be, where we left off with the self-titled [album]," Barker tells Billboard. "[The songs] feel like they could be disc two of that album, so far."

Barker is currently touring behind his solo album Give the Drummer Some through the end of the month, but he expects to lay down his drum tracks for the Blink record as soon as he gets home. "Right now, I get stuff sent to me over the internet so when I get home I can do my thing. I talk to Mark [Hoppus] through e-mail every day."

Even with Blink project, the three bandmembers will keep focused on various side projects. Tom DeLonge's Angels and Airwaves will release a new album Love II (and accompanying movie Love) in November, while Barker is also cutting an album with his side-project Transplants, the punk group featuring Rancid's Tim Armstrong and Skinhead Rob Aston.

Young Jeezy Rocks with Travis Barker on "TM103"

Young Jeezy is giving the drummer some on Thug Motivation 103. The Atlanta rapper has enlisted Travis Barker for a track on his long-awaited album.

The Blink-182 member plays drums on the Drumma Boy-produced intro to Jeezy’s fourth LP. “I did an intro with Drumma Boy, maybe a couple of months ago,” Barker exclusively told Rap-Up.com. “It was amazing. It was like this epic, Braveheart-sounding intro.”

Drumma Boy, who has recently been in the lab with Raheem DeVaughn and Angie Stone, shared a few more details on TM103. “If I had to say one word, it would be classic. It’s gonna be a lot of love put into this record. It’s gonna be a lot of stories, drama, effects... It’s gon’ be a classic,” he stated.

The beatmaker promises the oft-delayed project will arrive by the year’s end and will be worth the wait. “You’re gonna get it this year, definitely. No questions—guaranteed. You heard it out of my mouth.”

All new Angels And Airwaves website

Welcome to Angels And Airwaves' new site!

We're excited to have a new layout that highlights all the cool projects we're working on as well as the projects we're proud of from the past 5 years. The "legacy" buttons at the top of the page will help filter all the content within the site to show videos, photos, modcasts, etc.. that were created within certain eras such as Start The Machine, We Don't Need To Whisper, IEmpire and Love.

You will find the same familiar features here from the old site too... including live chats and broadcasts now located in AVA LIVE. We added a section on the homepage where we are going to do our best to schedule our broadcasts in advance so our members can plan ahead to watch. Members can also click on the FAN button in the toolbar to upload their photos and videos of the band and don't forget to sign up to the AVA MAILING LIST so we can call your attention to any special events and information you wont want to miss out on!

New merch is available in the AVA SHOP, including best sellers from previous eras we brought back and new Love Movie merch! To kick things off we have a bundle available in limited quantities of an autographed Love movie poster and official Love movie t-shirt.

HOPE is a new page on the site dedicated to our new campaign to SPREAD HOPE LIKE FIRE and call attention to the charities and non-profits that are near to our hearts. Throughout the year we will be working to bring awareness and raise what funds we can to help these great causes out.

In the JOIN AVA.COM section we breakdown our different membership tiers.. from our original DIGITAL membership that gives you access to all of the technology that powers AVA.COM: live chats, broadcasts, pre-sale ticketing, etc.. to our new GOLD membership where we are striving to take things to a new level by offering our biggest supporters EXCLUSIVE LIMITED EDITION products that we will ship each quarter.. from vinyl and t-shirts to autographed digital prints of original paintings by TOM that include our AVA GOLD SEAL of authenticity.

If you have any questions on how it all works, visit our AVA MEMBERSHIP FAQ page where hopefully we have answered all your questions.

There's a couple other projects we're working on that we're really excited about and we hint to on the website. We're not going to give it all away right now... but we hope we've provided enough in our teasers to get your mind thinking about what's to come!

Enjoy.
